Frequently Asked Questions
SimLeaguesPro is an online platform for hosting, managing, and competing in simulation baseball leagues powered by Out of the Park Baseball (OOTP). It gives commissioners pro-level tools to run leagues, lets team owners manage rosters and draft players, and lets fans follow standings, stats, and news — all in one place.
SimLeaguesPro supports two primary league types:
- Online Leagues — Each franchise is managed by a real human team owner using OOTP. The commissioner runs the game simulation and imports updated data after each game day.
- Fantasy Leagues — Members draft players from an OOTP simulation and compete based on simulated stats. No copy of OOTP is required to participate as a fantasy player.
No. All player stats on SimLeaguesPro are generated by the OOTP game engine, not pulled from real-world live games. However, if a commissioner uses real MLB rosters or a historic replay scenario within OOTP, you may see stats tied to real MLB player names — they are still driven by simulated results, not real-life performance.
It depends on how you want to participate:
- Browsing the site, creating a free account, and participating in fantasy leagues — no copy of OOTP is required.
- Joining an online league as a team owner — yes, you must own a copy of OOTP to run your franchise and participate in simulated game days.
- Creating and running a league as a commissioner — yes, OOTP is required to generate and manage the simulation data that powers your league.
SimLeaguesPro currently supports OOTP 25 and newer. Older versions have not yet been formally tested. Support for earlier versions may be added in the future — check back for updates.
OOTP Game League refers to the baseball universe a commissioner creates and simulates inside the OOTP desktop application — the teams, players, and game results it generates.
SimLeaguesPro League is the online competition that runs on top of that data. SimLeaguesPro imports the OOTP output, hosts it online, and adds roster management, fantasy drafts, standings, member accounts, and news tools around it.
Yes — creating an account is free. A free account lets you browse leagues, view standings and stats, follow teams, and participate in fantasy leagues. Commissioner tools and the ability to create your own league require a subscription. See our Pricing page for details.

Browse available leagues on the Browse Leagues page. If a league is accepting new team owners, you can apply to join. Once the commissioner approves your application, you’ll manage your franchise and receive sim updates as each game day is processed.
Yes. Members with an active commissioner subscription can create leagues, configure rosters and draft settings, manage team owners, run game days, and publish news. A copy of OOTP is required to generate the simulation data that powers your league. Visit our Pricing page for commissioner plan details.
No. Fantasy leagues are driven by the simulation data imported by the league’s commissioner. As a fantasy participant, you draft and manage a roster of players from that simulation. All you need is a SimLeaguesPro account and a desire to compete — no copy of OOTP required.
When the commissioner opens drafting for a fantasy league, you’ll select players from the available player pool generated by the linked OOTP simulation. SimLeaguesPro tracks your roster, automates scoring, and updates standings each time the commissioner imports a new game day. Draft formats and scoring settings are configured by the commissioner.
